At the Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory we are continuously looking for bright researchers to join our group for a shorter or longer time, for our mutual benefit, and that of the advancement of color imaging science and technology.

Possible research topics include color in displays, multispectral color imaging, image and video quality metrics, cross media color image reproduction and gamut mapping, color management and device characterization, variational analysis for image processing, visual saliency, color in visual media, film restoration, media learning objects, video surveillance, etc.

Possible modalities range from student internships, researcher visits, postdoc position, adjunct faculty positions, etc. If you would be interested in working with us, do not hesitate to contact us and we'll explore the possibilities together.

For currently available openings, see below.

  • Research Professor/Postdoctoral Researcher - Vision Science and Image Quality : The recruited researcher will be a key contributor to the SHP project HyPerCept – Colour and Quality in Higher Dimensions. The core concepts of the HyPerCept project are colour and quality, both complex perceptual attributes that are currently not fully understood. We will investigate in dimensions beyond what is common, concerning both the attributes themselves and their domain of application.

The ideal candidate for this position has strong fundamental knowledge and analytical skills, particularly in colour and vision science, but at the same time extensive experience and a keen interest in solving applied research problems in colour imaging, particularly related to quality. The researcher is also expected to contribute to the further development of the Colourlab, for instance through writing research proposals to gather external funding.
